HLA Scholarships available

The Hawaii Library Association is now accepting applications for its annual scholarships of up to $1,000 each. Deadline is Friday, March 9, 2012.


Current UH Manoa LIS or advanced certificate students who have completed at least one semester may apply for the HLA Student Award. Applicants are judged on leadership potential, professional promise and potential for academic success. Special consideration will be given to students not receiving other scholarships or tuition waivers. Awardees will also be granted one year free HLA membership.


Current HLA members may apply for the HLA Professional Award, which provides up to $1,000 for professional growth and development at all levels, including paraprofessionals, and may be used towards conference attendance or continuing education. Applicants are judged on how their professional goals will be furthered by education and how it will enhance professional services.
